A space to honour your pregnancy, labour and birth - a therapeutic approach but steeped in science
These classes are full of evidence based birth info, practical tools and techniques that you will be able to practise during your pregnancy and for labour itself to aid relaxation, eliminate fear and work with the natural physiology of birth.
These skills will help you towards a calm & positive birth that is right for you.
Women and birthing people are welcome to attend these classes at any point from 20 weeks into their pregnancy but most expectant parents like to attend around the 30 week mark. it is however never too late to attend and to prepare yourself with the tools and mindset you need for the best possible birth for YOU.
I provide ongoing, personalised support up until the birth of your baby.

Birth reflections are an important part of the birthing journey - it can be extremely beneficial to reflect on your birth in a contained way - with the opportunity to explore the feelings, process the emotions and openly share the experience.
This therapeutic approach can help the transition to parenthood and will help with any signposting to further support if needed.

all about the science & hypnosis
Learn about YOUR body and how labour begins, understand fight or flight and a method of breathing to support you in this to quieten or eliminate any fear you may be holding, learn about hormones and how language can play a huge part in your preparation for birth. Practise how to reframe the pain to be a sensation you can work with, not against. Understand how to relax during birth using breathing techniques and visualisation. Learn self hypnosis and how this can aid your labour. Understand how to navigate CHOICE in your labour and become confident in your decisions. Prepare and practise affirmations that align with YOU and YOUR birth and learn how powerful these can be. Learn and become confident in the release & let go technique and the calm birth school breathing.

visualisation & your birthing environment;
Learn how to practise visualisation and understand the importance of your birthing environment. Understand the choices in where to give birth and how to make that decision. Prepare your birthing team and understand the roles of those people. Learn how your birthing partner can support you specifically in your labour. Understand how to create a realistic birth preferences document that aligns with YOU.
session 3
physical & emotional
Learn how to prepare physically for labour alongside emotionally - useful pelvic floor exercises, perineal massage and pre natal bonding with baby. Understand what estimated due dates actually represent and learn how to reframe this time. Educate yourself of all inductions of labour and what they mean. Learn about natural induction methods and navigating the choices. Understand special circumstances and what this really means. Prepare yourself on how to deal with distractions & the art of the dial down method.
session 4
early stages of labour
Understand all about early labour & the 7 signs of labour, learn about birth positions and what will suit YOU, learn what labour could feel like and understand when to leave home if you are leaving home to give birth. Navigate the choices when you are hospital and understanding how to work with your care provider. What to do if your labour slows or rests and how to remain positive about that, learn about using the BRAIN acronym and how that can help you. Prepare yourself for the birthing phase, the sensations you will feel (needing a poo!) and the way to remain calm and positive. Learn about birth breathing and the empowerment you can gain from this. Understand the transition & crowning phase and know how to realistically prepare for it. Understand your options for the cord, the placenta and skin to skin and prepare for what is right for YOU.
